(French Federation of Bicycle Touring), 105 cyclists will go from Paris to Beijing on bicycle from 16th of March to the 3rd of August 2008 to arrive a few days before the beginning of the Olympic Games in China. A blind man, Gerard MULLER chairman of the Association YVOIR, will take part in it by carrying the 12800 km on his tandem behind his pilot Michel CABART. It wants that this formidable cycling epopee through 12 countries is also carrying a message of hope: · “Any human being must have dreams, in spite of blindness it is possible to have some also”. · “ To send a message of hope to the whole of the blind men: Research advances, the Institute of the Vision was creates in Paris in 2008”. · “ A socio-educational project: me here, young person plugs in France, listen how I live my blindness. And you, over there how do you live your one in your Country ? »
The objective
of Operation “PARIS-PEKIN A VELO SANS Y VOIR”, within the framework of
Paris-Beijing with Vélo 2008, is to create links between the Schools of
Blind men of France and those of the crossed countries. Specific meetings
will take place at the time of the days of rest during Paris-Beijing Tour in
order to carry out these exchanges. Operation
