L'ASSOCIATION YVOIR

 

YVOIR is an association based on the Alsatian local Law, it is recorded with the Magistrate's court of Strasbourg.

The Board is composed of four members:

- President :         Gerard MULLER

- Vice-president: Marie-Therese WERLING

- Treasurer :         Albert BIEHLER

- Secretary :         Pierre MULLER

Objective of Yvoir :

To support the Institute of the Vision located in the Quinze-Vingt Hospital in Paris or any project allowing to improve the everyday life of the blind men or partially-sighted persons.

In 2007 the operation Yvoir+ Europe : 20 blind men from all the Europe went out of tandem from Strasbourg to Paris. They were accompanied by about thirty touring cyclists issued from the A.S.E.S. They left the European Parliament in Strasbourg towards Paris via Luxembourg and Brussels. This operation had two objectives :

· to make known the impact of the retinal diseases concerning 10 Million people in Europe to general public and European political world. To inform the people reached by these disease that Research advances, which the hope is in sight. It is the message which made pass Prof. Jose Sahel and Dr. Serge Picaud of the Institute of the Vision in Paris at the time of their Conference.

· to collect funds intended for Research carried out by the Institute of the Vision. Thus we could finance the purchase of a Magnetic-Retinograph allowing to check the effectiveness of the molecules tested on the mouse.

In 2008 : Participation in forwarding “PARIS-PEKIN A VELO SANS Y VOIR” of president Gerard Muller, with application of the socio-educational project for the young blind men of the crossed countries.

29/03/2008 : Concert organized by the Harmony of Electricity of Strasbourg to the profit of YVOIR in the Palais des Congres of Strasbourg.

04/05/2008: Presence of YVOIR at the time of the Open day of the European Parliament.

18/05/2008: Running Race of Strasbourg, operation in partnership with Electricity of Strasbourg to the profit of YVOIR for the young blind men of the School Louis Braille of Strasbourg.
